J-hope is the happy pill of the group and the lead dancer. He choose the name “J-Hope” as his stage name because he wants to be a source of light and hope to his fans.

He was born in Gwangju, South Korea. He has a famous older sister known as, Mejiwoo. His father is a high school literature teacher. He studies at Global Cyber University. He likes listening to music and shopping. His favorite colour is green. (the color of hope), His favorite number is 7.

J-Hope 1st mixtape is “Hope World”, with the title track “Daydream”. He made his official solo debut on July 2022 with the album “Jack In The Box” and title track "Arson".

On April 18, 2023, he started his military service. His estimated discharge date is October 2024.
