He was born in Incheon, South Korea. He has an older brother.

Mingi was the third member to join KQ Entertainment. Yunho and Mingi have known each other before joining KQ Entertainment. They both auditioned for the company without the other knowing and met at the audition. He often acts like the youngest when they are in their dorms.

He loves writing notes times to times and watches animes in his free time. His favorite colors are Dark Blue and Cement.

Mingi’s microphone color is grey because he thought it was pretty when he saw it.
